Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: my country has built nearly 1.6 million 5G base stations

On May 17, it was learned at the 2022 World Telecom and Information Society Day that my country has built nearly 1.6 million 5G base stations, becoming the world's first country to build a 5G network based on an independent networking model. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will "moderately advance" to accelerate infrastructure construction, promote the construction of 5G, gigabit optical network, and data centers, and improve the depth and breadth of coverage; seize the critical period of large-scale application of 5G, accelerate the upgrading of the industrial Internet, and continuously cultivate development momentum.

Currently, 5G applications cover many life fields such as transportation, medical care, education, culture and tourism, with a total of more than 20,000 cases. The industrial Internet has been applied to 45 major national economic categories, covering all aspects such as R&D design, production and manufacturing, and marketing services, and the industrial scale has exceeded one trillion yuan mark.
